Mobile Internet Devices (MIDS) represent a new category of small mobile devices that provide an amazing Internet experience – providing a unique entertainment and informational portal in a very small and portable device.
Quartics QVU Multimedia Coprocessing technology provides all the capabilities to extend the MID experience to High Definition. Whether embedded in the MID or in an accessory, the Quartics device with its multimedia processing capabilities pushes the MID experience to new levels.
Quartics devices offer programmable decoding of all popular codecs as well as support for programmable encoding and transcoding. Video decoding support is available for MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, VC-1 and Flash. This allows a user to view most of the content available on the Internet in High Definition.
Quartics devices also support encoding and transcoding which enable advanced applications such as High Definition Video Tele-conferencing on a MID as well as content transfer to and from an MID to another device.
Quartics' solutions can be embedded directly in MIDs or in accessory products where the accessory provides direct access and interactivity with content on the Internet.
