Just as Quartics’ video processing solutions provide high-performance universal decode and encode, Qvu™-enabled VPUs also provide the capability for efficient, high-performance transcode of any existing DCT-based video codec format. In addition, Quartics’ flexible, programmable platform allows for upgrades in transcoding capabilities in order to support future codec standards as they become available, extending the useful life of any Qvu™-enabled device.

Qvu™’s high-performance universal SD and HD transcode capability allows manufacturers to provide video solutions with near universal compatibility that seamlessly stream video to any number of handheld and mobile consumer electronic products, including iPhone, PlayStation Portable, Walkman, and iPod. Qvu™ is capable of providing high-performance SD or HD transcode of any device-specific format for the most efficient and flexible universal transcode solution available for PC and other consumer electronics applications.

In addition to seamless universal SD and HD transcode, Quartics’ video processors also provide state-of-the-art image enhancement on streaming video content during transcode. The advanced post-processing techniques of Quartics’ breakthrough Qvu™ technology improve both SD and HD video quality beyond high definition to Super Resolution. Quartics’ video processing solutions deliver sharper, brighter video images with more vivid, deep colors and better dynamic range, for a dramatically improved video viewing experience on transcoded video content.
